Interesting fact: the official slogan of the 19th Asian Games is the mascots “Heart to Heart Future”. The mascots of the Games were three robots named Kongkong, Lianlian and Chenchen. All of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The yellow color of the Kongkong robot symbolizes the earth and a bumper harvest. And it got its name in honor of the Kong jade pendant, which was found in the ruins of the ancient city of Liangzhu. Lianlian is a representative of the West Lake. Its name translates to a lake full of lush lotus leaves. Green color symbolizes life and nature. Chenchen - its blue color is a symbol of science and technology. Chenchen represents the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The robot gets its name from the Gongcheng Bridge. Sports program On April 8, 2019, the OCA announced that the 2022 Asian Games program includes 37 sports. 28 disciplines from the program of the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. On September 12, 2019, the Organizing Committee announced that 3 more sports disciplines had been added and the total number of sports had reached 40.
