China Media Group will broadcast the ICF Super Cup in various disciplines in Hangzhou

China Media Group has announced that the Super Cup of the International Kayaking and Canoeing Federation will be one of the largest sporting events to be broadcast this year. Konoe sprint, rowing slalom, canoe polo and canoe marathon will be part of an exciting multidisciplinary competition in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. Hundreds of athletes from all over the world are ready to compete for a prize pool of almost 400,000 US dollars. This exciting new competition, showcasing four disciplines, will take place from October 11th to 13th this year. The ICF Super Cup is included in the CMG broadcast list for 2024, along with events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, as well as the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon. This announcement was made after ICF and CMG signed a partnership in 2023 to ensure a strong digital and linear paddle sports presence throughout mainland China and Macau. ICF President Thomas Konecko said that the ICF Super Cup will give new energy to the development of paddle sports. "This event promises to be an impressive demonstration of talent and skill, bringing together the best teams in the world in four disciplines: kayaking and canoeing, rowing slalom, marathon canoeing, as well as polo canoeing" "The joint efforts of the ICF and CMG to jointly host this event reflect a shared commitment to the development of canoeing in China, which, with its vast and fertile rivers and lakes, serves as one of the key countries for the development of our sport. « Rowing slalom and canoeing were on the program of last year's Asian Games in Hangzhou, and the competition was held at the impressive Fuyang Aquatics Center. China has played a major role on the water, winning 12 of the 16 gold medals in two disciplines. Paracanoe successfully debuted at the Asian Paralympic Games last October, where Uzbekistan, Iran, China and India claimed the titles.
