Today, Deputy Chairman of the NOC, head of the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan Sherzod Tashmatov celebrates his birthday. Sherzod Rikhsibaevich Tashmatov was born on June 5, 1979. A professional sports manager who devoted most of his life to the development of Uzbek sports, he successfully worked in the Muay Thai and Boxing Federations, as well as in the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan. Especially invaluable is the merit of this man in the triumphant performance of Uzbek leather glove masters at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Sherzod Tashmatov was also vice-president of the Asian Boxing Confederation, a member of the Executive Committee of the Organization. It is worth noting that as the head of the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Rikhsibaevich contributed to the participation of the full Uzbek national team in this discipline in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Domestic taekwondo athletes won 4 Olympic licenses for the first time. In addition, the Olympic gold medal of Ulugbek Rashitov became the first award for Independent Uzbekistan at the main starts of the fourth anniversary in this sport.
