These days, the Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Qatar Olympic Committee, Thani Bin Abdulrahmon Al Kuwari, is on a working visit to our capital. One of the main goals of his arrival in Tashkent is to strengthen close cooperation in the field of sports between Uzbekistan and Qatar. At first, topics in this direction were discussed with the high-ranking guest at the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports. He was met by Minister Adham Ikramov and OSA Vice President Otabek Umarov. The organized meeting was devoted to the further strengthening of friendly relations between the two sides. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan Hassan Hamza Hoshim, Deputy Minister Shahrullo Mahmudov and Deputy Chairman of the NOC Azizjon Kamilov. After that, Thani Ibn Abdulrahmon Al Kuwari visited the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. Here he was met by the Secretary General of the committee Oybek Kasimov and Azizjon Kamilov. During the meeting, Oybek Omilovich spoke about strengthening the Olympic movement and promoting a healthy lifestyle in every region of the country, about the system of selecting young people for martial arts, preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The NOC Secretary General also added that diligent preparations are underway for a large-scale mass race in connection with the upcoming Olympic Day, which is widely celebrated in our country every year. During the meeting, the topics of raising the relationship between the two National Olympic Committees to a new level, joint preparation for the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games, organization of more TCBMs between the national teams of both countries, construction of modern sports facilities and exchange of experience in this direction were discussed. Qatar, as you know, has become a state with great potential in the world of sports in recent years. This is evidenced by the fact that the country has held a number of events in various sports at a high level, in particular the FIFA World Cup. Qatar will also host the 2030 Asian Summer Games. O. Umarov put forward his proposals to study Qatar's experience in preparing for the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games and other major international competitions. In turn, the Qatari side emphasized that Uzbek sport has a strong school, especially in martial arts, where domestic athletes are world leaders. The guests also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Uzbek side.
