Yesterday, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Hatori Takashi became a guest of the NOC. He was met by NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov. During the conversation, issues such as the further development of friendly relations and the exchange of experience between the parties were discussed. Oybek Kasimov expressed his joy that he was holding his first official meeting in 2023 with Mr. Takashi. The Secretary General of the NOC stressed that Japan is a leading sports power not only on our continent, but also around the world, noting that strengthening cooperation with such a country will serve for the benefit of the development of Uzbek sports. In addition, he said that before the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, the NOC of Uzbekistan and the city of Maizuru implemented a number of projects on the basis of a memorandum of cooperation. In turn, Hatori Takashi highlighted the achievements in the sports field of our country. In particular, he highly appreciated the result achieved by the Russian delegation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Mr. Ambassador noted that during his short career in Uzbekistan, he explored many areas, including highly appreciated the capabilities of the Amirsoy Ski Complex and the Humo Arena Ice Palace. During the conversation, a detailed exchange of views was also held on the extensive use of Japan's experience in preparing for major sports competitions, in particular, for the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games, cooperation in preparing for the main continental starts of the 2026 quadrennial in the Japanese cities of Aichi and Nagoya, joint training camps between National teams.
