The heroes of Hangzhou 2022, who showed a historic result, were well received

The delegation of Uzbekistan, which successfully participated in the XIX Asian Summer Games, held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8, was solemnly welcomed. Our compatriots arrived home on a special charter flight organized by the state.   The ceremony was held at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. The athletes were met by representatives of the Government headed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov, Acting Khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov, Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, the leadership of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Uzbekistan. At the solemn event, Abdullah Nigmatovich congratulated the successful athletes on the results achieved and read out the congratulations of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to them. In turn, speaking on behalf of the athletes, the champions of the Games Bahodir Zhalolov and Sharifa Davronova noted that they were very grateful for such close attention from the state, which gives great motivation on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the end of the celebration, according to tradition, at the airport, representatives of the delegation in the motorcades of champions drove through the central streets of the capital. They were greeted by thousands of fans and fans of Uzbek sports. It should be recalled that the delegation of Uzbekistan at the current Asian Games took fifth place in the team competition with 71 medals (22 gold, 18 silver and 31 bronze) among 45 countries. It is worth noting that the national team showed the best result compared to Thailand and Chinese Taipei, which had several times more athletes and entered the top ten at the end of the Asian Games, as well as Kazakhstan, Iran, Hong Kong, Qatar, Bahrain, which have high authority in the field of sports of our continent. It is noteworthy that at the current Asian Games, Uzbek athletes won medals not only in individual, but also in team and team sports. Including football, as well as judo, fencing, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo WT, chess. It is worth noting that if we count the awards together with the athletes in the team programs, 113 athletes won 132 medals. 31 athletes were awarded 22 gold medals, of which almost an equal half (49 percent) are girls. This is a high result of the attention paid to women's sports in our country. In addition, 39% of the 18 silver medals won by 26 athletes, and 35% of the 31 bronze medals won by 65 athletes, fall precisely to the share of women's sports. The Small Olympiad once again revealed the talents of Uzbek sports in such team programs as fencing, judo, rowing, football, rhythmic gymnastics, chess. Thus, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games are left behind. Now, Russian athletes will continue to prepare for the upcoming important competitions, and, above all, for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The National Olympic Committee once again sincerely congratulates the brave athletes and coaches, all those involved in the development of sports in our country with such an excellent result, and wishes everyone new victories and achievements at prestigious international competitions! At the same time, he expresses gratitude for the attention paid to the sports sphere by the head of our state for the reforms aimed at supporting domestic athletes.
