Today, a mass race “Yangi Nafas” was held throughout the republic, timed to coincide with June 23 – International Olympic Day and June 30 -Youth Day. The competitions, which covered 16 cities of the country, were organized at a high level in the capital. The opening ceremony was attended by the heads of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Olympic Committee. The officials who spoke at the ceremony highlighted the conditions created for sports and the reforms carried out by the President in this direction. The event also featured a festive speech by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, who congratulated on the International Olympic Day. It is worth noting that in addition to domestic supporters of a healthy lifestyle, athletes from neighboring Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps operating in our country, took part in the competition. The mass sports event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the khokimiyats of all cities and regions. The general partner of the competition is Uzbekneftegaz JSC, which provided assistance in the organizational, technical and preparatory work of the event. More than 60 thousand participants from all over the republic took part in this massive race. Among them are about 17 thousand students, as well as the military-patriotic group "Watan Kalkoni" (Shield of the Motherland), consisting of cadets and graduates of military educational institutions. The competitions were held in the cities of Ferghana, Namangan, Bukhara, Samarkand, Nukus at a distance of 1 mile (1,609 meters) and 3 km, Andijan, Gulistan, Nurafshon, Jizzakh, Termez, Navoi, Karaulbazar, Karshi, Urgench and Guzar at a distance of 3 km. The competitions in Tashkent, organized on the square in front of the Humo Arena complex, took place at distances of 1 mile, 3 km and 10 km. The motto of the competition was the hashtag #letsmove (“let's move”), which was put forward in connection with the 75th anniversary of International Olympic Day.
